The following are 12 statistics about money and Congress that are so outrageous that it is hard to believe that they are actually true....

Please, dicuss. Convince me that your congress-critter is one of the 'good guys' and looking out for you.

It does not surprise me that most members of Congress are rich. With what it costs to run a campaign you have to be to get elected. I would be more concerned with how they made their fortune BEFORE they were elected. I understand one had a business selling herbal supplements, one reason there is resistance to regulation thereof. I read that one got upset over only getting $175000 as a Rep when he was used to earning more. Tough cookies, I say. Actually I wish some rich folks, like Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, would run.

I get what you say, I just don't like the fact that they use their 'public service' to increase their wealth. To them it's all about personal gain, and zero for John Q. Taxpayer.
