If you're poor, the problem is that YOU might become worse off when the rich get richer. that's the part I never hear about.
For example, the Reagan tax cuts allowed me to keep a few hundred more dollars. Unfortunately, practically everyone else also had more money in their pockets, and the price of rent will necessarily skyrocket when people have more money in their pockets, and I ended up worse off than I was before the tax cuts.
For example, say a poor person makes $10K a year and pays half their income for rent. Now let's say everyone has more money, and this poor person now earns $11K, while their rent goes up 20 percent. Is this person better off?
YES....I agree, payback even If it does not help the poor!!!
The horrible Asian and White kids who do very well in school.........we should engineer a way to dampen their achievements and education........level out the playing field so others do not feel bad!

We should teach everyone to the best of their abilities. We should help people to aim as high as they can.

This is a valid argument, but it works for both sides economics. The left always wants to raise the minimum wage, but the only really affect that has is to raise the cost of everything else. Any time there is inflation the people at the bottom end of the economic spectrum suffer. Their wage increases almost never match the rising costs.
