Long story short: 15 year old kidnapped and raped two women at gunpoint. He's been charged as a juvenile, meaning he gets to go and rape more people once he turns 21. They're trying to get it changed to charge him as an adult but I have no doubt that certain unsavory elements will attempt to keep him charged as a juvenile.

WTH? This has nothing to do with "liberal seattle". It's a matter of juvinille law and the fact that we don't just make laws up as we go becasue it sounds good.

Wow, how horrible. Some one served their time in jail according to the law and is being let go.

The average time served in the US for rape charges is 65 months, 6 years exceeds that.

Would you rather have life sentences for every crime anyone commits?

I completely disagree with the current trend in juvenile law. The old common law had it correct. Once you are fourteen you don't get to go to baby jail anymore, and an individual determination would be made for those 12-14. You know what you're doing after 13 and understand the consequences of your actions. A huge percent of violent juvenile offenders continue to re-offend. I don't think it has anything to do with "liberal Seattle", it's a general, disturbing trend in criminal law.

What "certain unsavory elements"? Be specific.

Depends upon the psych eval for sexual predators IMO. The whole danger to themselves and others schtick.

It's always sad to see them arrest some 50 year old guy with decades of rapes on his record and a psych eval stating he is virtually certain to repeat offend.....after some kid goes missing and turns up dead in the guys trunk etc.

So you have a story about a young rapist. that may or may not be charged as a minor. It is unknown at this point....
You have as a minor him scheduled to serve a normal sentence

And this is all due to Liberal seattle... I see the connection...

suggestion next time you want to slam liberals - why not select something they actually are involved with.

thread - Fail!
