Jesus, how hard is it to just avoid public bathrooms most of the time? ESPECIALLY if you are "transgendering" to wait for surgery or whatever. Sometimes you just have to be a little inconvenienced to get what you want in life....that's a fact.
It's pretty hard if you're female-to-male, at school/work all day, and on your period.
Seems like he/she is imposing their lifestyle on everyone else. It's particularly evident in his/her quote about "wanting people to know that there are different people out there." I'm so tired of people trying to force stuff on others.
But forcing people to risk getting harassed or beat up because "penis = men's restroom" and "vagina = woman's restroom" is not forcing stuff on others. Nope, not at all.
^ Exactly. And why does it seem like people are so inconsiderate of other people's comfort and feelings in situations like this? "Oh, I want to go in the girls' bathroom because I am transgender."
Do they ever think that just maybe everyone else isn't comfortable with that?
Did you ever think that you probably wouldn't even know anyway? What are you going to do, look at everyone's privates to "make sure they match"?
Good enough for me! I find it humorous to refer to the transgendered male as "she". He still has a penis, and he will always be genetically male regardless of what parts he removes or adds. If I tan enough can I identify myself as african american? Modifying your body doesn't change what you are, fundamentally. But it is their article, so they can call him whatever they wish.
Trans people are already fundamentally the sex that they transition into, which is why they are transitioning to begin with. What they're really doing is getting the outside to match the inside. So a male-to-female transsexual is already fundamentally female. She's changing her outer appearance to match her inner self.
No matter how much clipping and reattaching one does,
genetically you are how you were born.
XX or XY.
(and please don't start groping around for statistics of a "3rd sex" or some nonsense. The numbers on those supposed cases are so extraordinarily low they have no bearing on a normal conversation in the vast majority of places.)
Genetics aren't the whole picture though. Hormone levels and brain structures are a part of biological gender as well. Studies have shown this mismatch shows up in transsexuals. In other words, transsexuals literally have a "male" or "female" brain with clashing genitalia.
And that's the problem we have in this country. We're more concerned about "violating" the "rights" of one person at the expense of the other 1M. Honestly, the huge push by the LGBT community demanding their activities and ideas be recognized as legitimate, will do more to hurt community relations than improve it.
There are wonderful solutions that don't involve pushing an agenda on anyone--that is--creating a gender-neutral single stall for people who wish to use it. It could also double as the family restroom and triple as an accessible restroom since most bathrooms aren't as accessible as they are claimed to be. That would be killing three birds with one stone, and everyone would be happy. The men/women who want their bathrooms to be strictly biologically male and female people don't feel their rights are infringed upon, and transgender people have a bathroom they can use without being harassed. Win-win.
With England slowly turning into a muslim country you might regret a move there...
With the US slowly turning into a Christian theocracy, what's the difference?
