Obama strikes again, without a clue what he's talking about.

1. The federal government has no business with it's hands in education, that's a state's issue.

2. The wealthiest 2% is everyone making a bit over 250K, (that includes small businesses).

3. Neither party compromised, the Dems refused to compromise with the Repubs, and the Repubs refused to compromise with the dems. No single group is responsible for this!

Quote:
“There are still too many Republicans in Congress who have refused to listen to the voices of reason and compromise that are coming from outside of Washington. They continue to insist on protecting $100 Billion worth of tax cuts for the wealthiest 2 percent of Americans at any cost, even if it means reducing the deficit with deep cuts to things like education and medical research; even if it means deep cuts to Medicare.”

Agreed.

To the OP, Obama blames republicans, republicans blame democrats. Its a partisan game each play and we are the losers in it all. However, republicans have let it be known that all they care about is unseating Obama, nothing else matters so they are the worst.

The bolded word is your problem...

Partisan is significant because in your case and the dude above you posting, you fail to see that your party is full of douches just like the GOP is...

How to fix it.... educate yourself, stop watching mainstream media, think for yourself

Maybe someday you will become part of the solution instead of the problem

Which is why Independents will not be backing them. They need to start being part of the solution, unfortunately they care more about politcal power than the Nation, if they would try another metod they would gain respect, but right now they are showing they deserve none.

Basically, the whole exercise was pointless. The Republican members could have just said that they would not raise taxes on the rich right at the start. That's basically what they are saying now. If they were 100% completely against it and refused to compromise on that, then why did they bother with participating in the committee?

The Democrats didn't want program cuts, but were willing to cut programs
The Republicans didn't want tax increases, but were not willing to allow ANY tax increases

One side didn't compromise. Just more tea bagger influence screwing things up. I guess if I were poor, lived in a trailed park and didn't have any stocks, I might not care much about the situation either.

Thanks for posting the Facts, even though some will try and dance around the truth the American People will see it and reply in 2012.

We will NEVER get out of the Great Bush Depression until Republicans finally figure out that money DOES NOT grow on trees, and if you spend $1 trillion invading and occupying nations that had nothing to do with 911, and put it on a Chinese credit card, eventually the bill will become due and SOMEBODY eventually will have to pay for it.

Republicans' inability to do basic math is the sole reason we are in this mess to begin with. Thankfully, we finally have a president who is serious about tackling the deficit, after 8 years of the Texas Village Idiot who ran the country like a spoiled rich kid who discovered his daddy's credit card. The president had better veto any attempt to prevent the automatic cuts.

You listed the exact reasons that during the Bush years I was saying we are going to have to raise taxes to pay for all this, it is finally dawning on some that we have no choice in the matter. The problem is the longer we waited the more we are behind and the more painful the road back to a better place.
