FWIW - I don't think corporations should have no limits and I'm sick of Congress pandering to the special interests, but this basic idea is a point that should be stated and repeated.
Profitable corporation do not mean more jobs/income FOR THE PEOPLE.

Check how many corporations with hundreds of millions in profits are hiring...

Unless you are a major shareholder, you are worth nothing.

Where did I say that?

Corporations currently have, literally, trillions of dollars in cash. Where is the hiring?

There are major companies in this country that are pulling in hundreds of billions in profits per quarter and still laying off employees.

Makes a lot of sense, right?

As long as Obama the anti-Capitalist is in office yes, it makes perfect sense. What part of corporations have an obligation to their shareholders is difficult to understand?

Oddly enough new oil fields are right now contributing to the state with the lowest unemployment rate, North Dakota. More new oil fields would mean more jobs and greater national security though energy independence.

From the snippet of a video in the OP I thought the "professor" was behaving like a jackarse. YMMV

Obligation to shareholders, yes; obligation to America, no.

These people will do whatever will make them the most money. It has nothing to do with Obama.

Government jobs do not adhere to the market forces that create maximum productivity catering to the desires of the population at large. Pick up an econ book.

And this is just a stupid straw man.

How do corporations make money? By providing things that people want. Corporations don't hire because they're nice, you are correct on that, but that doesn't make them "bad".

You are very sadly correct. We will have one last chance to change that in November 2012 (if martial law is not declared and the election cancelled). Vote out every encumbent. Every one. Even the ones you like. It's the only hope for restoring power to the people.

the liberal dream...poor serfs making 7.20 an hour getting handouts for votes..and the rich elite liberal masters keeping the slaves in line

trickle up poverty doesnt work...but liberals dont use their brain..they just go by what george soros tells them to listen to
