The Pakistan government has given NATO 15 days to vacate an air base. They have also suspended the deliveries of supplies vital to US led NATO forces in Afghanistan. And Pakistan will review its diplomatic and military ties to the US and NATO.
Either someone in Pakistan set up their own troops so they have an excuse to get US and NATO out of Pakistan, they fired on US forces or there is something else to this story like high ranking Al- Qaeda member at the location.
I'm glad you posted this. Sometimes, I feel like I'm the only guy who is still following the news of the war over there. What a mess this is. Our relationship with Pakistan has been strained every since the Bin Laden raid. (It wasn't all that great before that.) If we're ever going to stop the Taliban and stabilize Afghanistan, we need Pakistan's cooperation. It seems like we're getting further away from that goal, not closer to it.
We should just Nuke that joke of a country and be done with it already. Between them and Iran, those two are probably cause of the majority of the problems in that region.

What's a joke is our continual involvement over there.
