There is a chance that bob doesn't know when the Fed was created and what party was governing then.

He must have missed that history lecture from Glenn Beck, the world renowned intellectual historian.

And yet Ron Paul is the only presidential hopeful who would seek to end the fed.

Newt Gingrich lists on his website that he wants to "reform the federal reserve."

I emailed him about 3 weeks ago asking for clarification. i'm sure a detailed response is forthcoming.

Judging by his debate comments, I think he would only end the fed's funding of federal government, by mandating balanced budgets; he seems to be perfectly OK with the policy where the Fed pumps money into the financial system to make the bankers rich.

If it is no big deal and the "reason the fed was created" why was it done so secretively?

I wasn't aware it had to announce such loans from the rooftops. The fed is an independent body charged with regulating monetary creation through interest rate manipulation and reserve levels. Why would it come as a surprise to anyone that such an organization took measures such as were mentioned in the article to maintain fiscal stability in this country?

Why shouldn't they? Every other move they make is public. It is all or nothing.

Why should they have to announce something from the rooftops? Follow the fed's movements if you care so much. They are doing the job they were created for.

Being shocked at this article would be like hiring a gardener and then being shocked that he cut your hedges the next day.
