Very interesting video chronicling China's massive underground nuclear tunnel system. Do we really know what they have going on underground over there?

I'm not surprised.

When environmental laws are nearly non-existent, you can accomplish just about anything you desire. China is smart enough to not allow Green Communists to subvert national ambitions. Right here in America, the EnivroNazi's won't rest for a minute until they shut down our national ambitions. If China moves past us in any front, we have every right to blame Environmentalists for the regression.

So? The U.S. doesn't have a large underground (and under water) nuclear arsenal?

Yeah those "EnivroNazi's". Why would they want to have regulations on pollution?.

We should be like China!:

There's a middle ground to be had. The United States has completely reversed air quality issues that plagued the 70s and 80s. Those standards are still in place and America is a better place because of it. But that doesn't stop the EnviroNazi's from pushing for more and more suffocating (pardon the pun) regulations. At some point you have to draw the line and decide on a happy medium. The problem is there is no happy medium to environmentalists. It's all or nothing. And politicians are happy to oblige for fear of looking like Earth Killers.

No one is advocating for China-like environmental standards, but no one seems content with ensuring that we remain competitive with China, either. That's the issue, and that's the reason why China will surpass us in every major indicator in the next 20 years. I'm convinced.

But Herman Cain told us China isn't a nuclear power, they were just working on it!

I'm glad to read that at least you agree that the anti-pollution laws of the 70s and 80s completely reversed air quality issues that plagued the nation. There are people like Bachmann that want to repeal those laws.

But what current environment proposals are unwarranted?

I have no idea what this has to do with the story. The US has a vast underground network themselves. I guess it would have depend upon where you dug the tunnels to judge how it affects the environment.

Way to hijack the thread BTW

Just in the last year 187,000 square miles of northern Alaska (which is 24,000 square miles larger than the State of California) as "critical habitat" for polar bears that are not endangered. That effectively shuts down all oil development on the north slope of Alaska.

This year the eco-NAZIs managed to get the Cook Inlet Beluga Whale classified as a sub-spieces, even though there are 80,000 Beluga Whales world-wide and they are not endangered, so they can shut down all oil development in Cook Inlet.

They already killed the timber industry in Alaska under Clinton. When they claim they do not oppose responsible development, they are lying. Eco-NAZIs oppose ALL development of any kind.

Who cares what they have or don't have. Eveybody is so afraid of China. What can they do to us that we can't already do to them?
