Maybe people don't realize how big this business is. Billions and billions of dollars are spent on prostitutes. And there are thousands of upscale women working independently, many out of their homes. You might be surprised that one of your neighbors is working.

The Stats Behind Prostitution

Instead of focusing on prohibition and regulation, LE should focus on associated crimes such as theft, rape, trafficking, child prostitution, etc.

That's the regulation I'm talking about.

Nevada seems to have no issue with this.

They don't have an issue, but only a small percentage of Nevada prostitutes are regulated.

Why do some people think controlling others is so great?
Making prostitution against the law is controlling others - why do you think that's so great?

Should be legal and regulated. Business license, min accounting requirements for taxation, and mandatory STD testing.

It is nuts that it is possible to pay two people to have consensual sex and record it to make a porno but is illegal for one person to pay another in their hotel room.

Prostitution in Nevada is heavily regulated: brothels are not allowed to advertise, zoning regulations are structured so as to place brothels in extremely remote areas, condom use is mandatory for both penetrative sex and oral sex (although, assumably, violations of that regulation do occur), brothels are forbidden in counties which have over 400,000 residents, and prostitution taking place outside of legal brothels is ardently enforced. It is illegal in both Washoe (Reno) and Clark (Las Vegas) counties. Las Vegas law enforcement frequently engages in prostitution stings...perhaps to eliminate competition to the state's legal brothels, which are very lucrative for both the government and the brothel ownership. A customer will typically pay two to three times the money for an equivalent encounter with an outcall escort, so there is a tremendous de facto surcharge to the legal experience in Nevada.

But the bottom line is regulation accomplishes no good. Like many other professions, regulation just protects larger businesses and organizations and makes the politicians look good.

Most prostitution activity in NV has never seen regulation. And it's all in cash.

Like Tiger Woods and Hugh Grant.......

It has nothing to do with ones wife or girlfriend or ones ability to attract women.
