Many people don't fall through the cracks because they have family to help them out. With the economy the way it's been, some people become homeless because that helping hand from family is no longer available. Times are tough. Even Mickey D's isn't hiring and even if one could get a job there, it's not like that paycheck would be enough for basics like food and rent.

Child homelessness up 33% in 3 years
I'm gonna be one of those socialists and say the government should step in when it comes to the children. The adults should stand for their own fortune.

A certain number of people are willing to fall through the cracks because it's easier than working their butts off and trying to make it in this world. That's not my problem either.

It is sad when the drag children into the mess. I'll grant you that.
Well the children did not make themselves homeless either. They have no say in the matter. Fault is easy to find with parents of children, but should we hold innocent children responsible? It takes a person with a cold heart not to care anything about children.

Why do dems struggle so hard with things every else does naturaly, like get up in the morning , go to work. Stop by the grocery store and buy food with THEIR own money. Pay their rent or mortgage with THEIR money.

They realy have become the party o " oh poor me" , how pathetic.

How many children have parents that are illegal immigrants?
That might be a reason for the high number.

I wonder if children who ran away from home are included with that number?

Your right. The children have not asked to be homeless, and are innocent in this mess. It is the parents, who should be taught responsibility, and if you know you cannot take care of a child properly, don't have sex, sorry easy as that. Or use protection,

If we can find the money to send all over the world, to Countries that need our help, i would think, that we would have money to help our homeless.

Democrats care about homeless children, is that what you are finding fault with? I am not a democrat, but I think caring about homeless children is a good thing. I would not want to be associated with people or organizations that don't care about them.

Maybe Newt's plan to put the children to work will help their plight. It's about time 9-year-olds start earning their keep.
