Why is it that African Americans or for that matter or minorities never have lead anchor positions on nightly news and always relegated to daytime.
Also why is it that there a no lead African american actors on any prime time dramas let alone sit coms.

Television generally caters to the largest demographic. The largest population in the U.S. is white women, followed by white men. Networks have to keep these two groups happy, or else they lose money. Everyone else is basically marginalized. Magazines operate the same way. It is truly messed up, but at the end of the day, networks are about keeping their ratings high, and making money. Publishers are about this too.

Exactly! It's profit motive, not racism.

This is a "faux" topic if there ever was one.

Are you suggesting that white men and women would be unhappy with a minority anchor/ sitcom lead?

And why do white men and white women, as per your assertion, control the amount of money the media makes? Is it because they have more money?

And why is this? Because they work harder? Are smarter? Better looking?

Questions that you shouldn't answer.

Media stations don't cater to the "largest" demographic, they cater to the "most profitable".

What about Larry McCormick? I liked his 'presentation' of the news...
