CANOE -- CNEWS - Daily Feature: Dear America: Get help — Your friends in Canada are worried about you

Dear America: Get help — Your friends in Canada are worried about you
By Lorrie Goldstein, QMI Agency

Dear America,

You used to be such a nice, smart country, but these days, and we say this as your friends up here in Canada, you seem to be having an emotional breakdown.

We first noticed it after you lost your mojo following the global economic crash of 2008.

Remember? That was the result of your politicians in the White House and on both sides of the aisle in Congress unleashing a financial tsunami on the world by gutting the regulation of your financial-services sector, dating to the Great Depression, at the behest of Wall Street.

That would be the same Wall Street money houses that lavished billions of dollars on those politicians in campaign donations and lobbying efforts going back decades, in order to get them to do their bidding by getting rid of those necessary financial safeguards.

Wall Street then drove a truck through the rules your politicians had removed at its behest, aided and abetted by your credit-rating agencies, which graded junk subprime mortgage securities as Triple A safe, which helped to spread the contagion of these toxic assets worldwide.

Yep! There is a mess down here!

America just need some help finding the courage to jail the financial thieves that almost ruined the economy. Then it needs to do the same with the "Merchants of Death" dominating our foreign policy with their Forever War. We could start with the authors of “a Plan for a New American Century.”

I'm glad Canada has noticed the USA has gone down the tubes with Obama as POTUS. Now if USA citizen voters would only do same we may actually find our way out of the culture of corruption.

Don't fall for it. We are being manipulated by Canada's 1%. All they want to do is sell us sub-prime oil that no other country will buy. That entire diatribe can be summed up thus: "write your Congressman and demand that America buy oil from friendly countries like Canada. Friends, if you really believe that America cannot produce enough oil to satisfy domestic consumption I've got news for you: it can. First off we don't use any of the oil we do produce! We sell it. All of it. Or rather, they do. The oil producers, Exxon-Mobil, etc. they get much better prices from the Japanese, Koreans, etc. than they would from Uncle Sam. Secondly, 71% of the oil that we use goes into cars, trucks, trains and airplanes. Insanity! We don't need wind energy or solar to turn things around (it woud help though). We need to move cars and trucks off gasoline yesterday, freight locomotives off diesel today and airplanes off aviation kerosene ASAP. I don't suppose there is anyway to force domestic producers of oil to sell domestically... that would make way too much sense. As usual this thread will be ignored because it too makes way too much sense.
