if you say so. i will take a temporary tax cut over a tax increase , any day.
Who wouldn't, the question is, what is it going to accomplish besides draining SS further? If something like this is going to be done, it should be done in order to have an impact not just for politics.

this type of low/middle wage tax cut mainly creates retail jobs.
and no, retail jobs are not the solution to our structural economic problems -- but they are very important in the short run for putting unemployed people to work, and out of the welfare lines. Retail employs a ton of people.
Why are the Senate democrats blocking the Payroll tax reduction?
They aren't. Threads built on sand never serve their intended purpose but I am sure some will still use it as an avenue to whine.
Hopefully the tax cuts will expire. Tax cuts are coming out of social security's budget which is unconsciencable. The GOP is hell bent on numerous controversial provisions that are strictly politically motivated. It's time for the Senate to stop bending over and let the tax cuts expire. The GOP will pay the cost at election time, as they should.
"Why are the Senate democrats blocking the Payroll tax reduction?"
The real question should be: Why are house Republicans trying to sneak things into this bill by tacking on issues that have NOTHING to do with a payroll tax deduction?
I thought they were supposed to represent small government and less spending. Interesting how that changed.
The pipeline is not about big government. It is a privately funded project that will create jobs for the middle class.
Why do you have something against putting people back to work? Why do you oppose the pipeline deal? BTW, adding stuff to the bills is and has been common practice by BOTH parties for as long as I can remember.
True, and the Senate won't vote on the pipeline separately.
