Not really until you add the shipping, fed tax, state taxes and all of that other stuff to the price of the car. Why do you think servicemen come back with nice exports at a cheaper cost?

I will never get an A/C because of heat.
And regarding heating, German homes are pretty comfortable, they all have central heating and good insulation.

An A/C is not an indicator of comfort and wealth. Many people in the US use the A/C to create ridiculously low temperatures. So, it's 90° outside, but inside buildings it feels like being in a fridge. I never understood that, what a waste of energy.
Yep, its gross. Go out to dinner on an absolutly georgous night , and ya have to bring a jacket for when ya go inside. So friggen cold that if it was winter I would put the heat on at that temp.

Based on my personal experience, I would say that Americans are into making excuses. It is a big part of why this country is in a shape it is...

Well for one, there seems to be a lot of lame excuses floating around for why we can't manufacture right here and keep Americans employed and outsource and offshore only as needed.

Maybe because Americans don't have much of economic patriotism?
