Like that's any different in any other developed country. Okay, maybe cars are smaller.
I haven't seen any shopping malls or large chain grocery stores in any other country the sizes they are here. And the sheer amount, like having a Lowes and Home Depot across the street from one another.
And yes McDonalds et all are practically everywhere on the globe but again, not in the amount they are here.

And why is that a bad thing? It's not like there's no competition to McDonald's or large grocery chains.
We are. The "Lady Gaga and other assorted idiots station" IS American culture in general!
Wynton Marsalis, Edgar Allen Poe and James Van Der Zee are the aberrations.
