Brietbart's attempt to spin Belafonte's opinion into something that the wingers want to hear is absolutely hilarious. I don't think Belafonte's idea of Obama's "moral compass" and what the wingers and extremists think of as "moral compass" are one and the same.
You guys should really think or read or even do a casual background on what shows he's on, and what he's talking about. For example from July 2011:
"He (Obama) has only listened to the voices that shout the loudest, and it’s all those reckless right-wing forces. It’s almost criminal.”
...
This is not the first time Belafonte has criticized the Obama administration. Last year, he spoke at a “One Nation Working Together” rally and criticized the administration’s response to the war in Afghanistan.
Belafonte is dissapointed because President Obama has not done more in his "moral compass" to champion civil rights and other "moral actions" such as a Single Payer health care program, furthering civil rights, taking on the Tea Party, etc. He wans Obama to be more in the mold of a Jim Brown, than caving in and working with the Republicans in a bi-partisan manner. To do the "righteous" thing and follow a "moral truth".
That's what you and Brietbart are now embracing. Gotcha on record!
4 years ago Belafonte was so much for Obama that I stoppd listening to his music. i am very happy that I can go back to doing that. I think I may run to YouTube right now and hear him sing some of my favorite things of the 1950s.
