Even if it was true, which I doubt, how much of that was spent on research and development? Didn't think I'd come up with that diddy did you?

The $250,000 figure has been pretty widely cited and I'm sure has been well vetted by now. In fact as Reason mag notes there are other subsidies that could have been figured in to bring the number even higher.
Congratulations Taxpayers, Chevy Volt is the Most Government-Supported Car at Up To $250k in Subsidies Per Vehicle Sold - Hit & Run : Reason Magazine

A second w/ Google reveals that the $250,000 figure is all over the internet. Don't you think that if there were any obvious errors in the analysis GM and Barack would have by now spread that all over the internet too?

Ford's great flop, the Edsel, sold 63,110 unsubsidized units in that model's first year of production.

Obama's Chevy Volt Gets 'Worst Product' Award - Chevy Volt - Fox Nation

I LOVE this headline;

Obama's Chevy Volt Gets 'Worst Product' Award

Quote:
The Obama Administrations' favorite car has had a rough time of late with sales goals not being met, exploding cars at NHTSA and media exposure of the high cost to taxpayers regarding Chevy Volt subsidies and federal funding of township purchases. Considering all the money spent by GM to hype the vehicle, the Worst Flop award is well-deserved.

Your link is to an article from back in the fall of 2010. That was before the big push in North Dakota and Canada. Sorry.

Thank you Obama. I love paying for failed ventures dreamed up by failed companies!!
Have you heard that GM is pondering shipping the production of the Volt to Cbina? I heard that this afternoon.

Oh well, speaking about tea party people in praising terms surely makes everything you say all lies. I sure hope that Obama never speaks about them like that since his lies are all so easily seen.

Did you guys bother reading the second part of my post or are you just ignoring it.

How much of that alleged 250K went to research and development?

FWIW - the Chevy Volt is not a viable solution to the problem of petroleum consumption. . . or the cost of infrastructure needed to support it.

Based on current technology, and barring some breakthrough, the most efficient form of land transport is steel wheel on steel rail. . . preferably electric powered. Which means that instead of subsidizing the automobile / petroleum / pavement paradigm, government should have been supporting electric traction rail - since 1973.

Ah yes oil shale and tar sands are going to save the world. I think you'll find the experts have taken into consideration these alternative 'oils' for years, and can accurately project what oil production will be 6-7 years in advance because of the lead in times for big projects.
