Why not rally for reducing the national debt, halting the cronyism going on with the Obama admin, or just rally on behalf of something that helps your fellow Americans? Instead you chose to rally for closing a prisoner detention camp during a war? Where are prisoners that we catch on the battlefield supposed to go then, Cook County jail?
You do realize that american citizens can now be sent there, correct?
What they did IS working towards helping american citizens.

US citizens are, ummmm... US citizens. Gitmo was built specifically for foreign enemies captured during a war, not for US citizens. For example, Jose Padilla was held in a naval brig in Charleston, South Carolina
Again the orange jumpsuits to make the 'protest' look larger than it was. Worked so well by labeling the few radicals as the '99%".
Objects in the media appear smaller than they actually are.
You'd be better of marching against how US prisons are run.

Then perhaps you should take some time and read the NDAA act. There are also threads here on CD about it.
Looks like a substantial protest, was it covered by national news?
I really didn't see any although they may have had their camera covered up as this camera guy from Reuters below.
Many times the national media does not cover events if the government does not want them to or the corporations that own the media and government doesn't want them to.

You are correct. The jurisdiction of the US Constitution extends only to the borders of the US, and no further. GITMO is not part of the US, GITMO is actually part of Cuba, but we have had a perpetual lease to use Guantanamo Bay since we granted their independence in 1900.
However, it is not necessary to hold foreign POWs in GITMO. The Fifth Amendment already provides an exception when someone, US citizen or not, on US soil or not, can be held indefinitely without being charged. Such as Jose Padilla.
"...except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger"
It has been common practice by the US and every European nation for centuries to hold POWs indefinitely, until the war is officially over. When the war is officially over, the vast majority of POWs are released to their country of origin, while a small minority are tried before a military tribunal for "war crimes."
In this particular case, the "War Against Terrorism" will not officially be over until Public Law 107-40 is repealed. Congress not only officially declares all wars, they also officially end them.

I read about it in the Washington Examiner this morning and immediately thought about this thread.
I'd like to nominate President Obama for a 2nd nobel peace prize for repeatedly talking about maybe, eventually closing Guantanamo and perhaps eventually keeping the campaign promise he made on several occasions.
