Now they’ll be sorry: North Korea may sentence people who didn't adequately mourn the late Kim Jong Il to six months of hard labor, a South Korean news site says.
North Koreans who didn't attend collective mourning sessions for the Dear Leader — or who attended but seemed insincere — are being subjected to at least six months in forced labor camps, an unnamed source from North Hamkyung Province told DailyNK.com on Wednesday
Beware that DailyNK is more like a gossip site since you can't actually verify anything they report since its always from anonymous sources inside North Korea. I know its North Korea and you can't verify anything in that country. I'm skeptical by nature though and I want proof.

There are quite a few papers reporting it.
Why do you think everyone cried? It's not natural, so obviously they did it only because they had to (out of fear of punishment).
The massive post-death crying events were absolutely artificial. I don't think its possible to brainwash millions into actually crying. You can certainly brainwash them, but you can't make them cry. North Koreans knew what they were facing if they didn't publicly mourn. This is sad.

Yep, it's "you cry now, or we'll make you cry later" policy.
South Korea spins stories almost as bad as the north. Easy to believe, though.
