I think if what Welch is saying is true about the effects of these regulations hampering the recovery then this is where it would have served Obama well had he had more people on his early economic team who had real world business experience. People like these could have helped him to craft better regulations because they would be able to anticipate how business people would respond to certain regulations.

Jack Welch is in love with Romney. I won't expect anything objective out of him on the subject. This is the guy who has said: "Mitt Romney is the best candidates I've seen to run for the President of the United States". Really?

On the flip side, anything "GE" may finally get applause from our fellow "conservatives".

Well that would be his political view which he's not known as an expert with. He was giving his business views which he is known as an expert.

His conclusion about Romney was entirely based on his "business expertise". It is all about politics.

What would be the need to have a regulation to prevent businesses from not hiring unemployed people? If an unemployed person has the skills that a business is looking for then wouldn't they hire that person anyway?

What happened to the second part of the interview after the break?

He got to say his piece based on, well that is his opinion and he really believes it...so what about the rebuttal?

Isn't it kind of selective reporting to delete out the bits that disagree and only post the part that the person agrees with?

Default Is Obama Over Regulating The Economy?

Obama has largely had his hands tied by the do-nothing House that blocks all attempts at recovery.

So the answer is NO.

The federal government does a good job of putting up guard rails and painting the lines on the financial roads. But when they start directing traffic is when we get into trouble.

President Obama hasn't regulated the markets enough. We still have to big to fail banks, and that is insane. We should have let them collapse and reform on their own. Regulate wall street, remove the legality of mortgage backed swaps, and then let the market run.
