He should have said he was going home to climb his neighbor's fence. Now that would have been funny...

Sounds like something I would say and I am Latino

Politically it was a stupid misstep.

Racial insensitive, yes.
Purely racist, probably not. (although he definitely was aware that the police department was violating the civil rights of Hispanics)

I just can't anymore, every little sentence someone says is dissected for racism. People need to grow thicker skin these games of gotcha really have to end.

It sounds like it clearly was a joke. Maybe one in poor taste and for the governor to act like the mayor just advocated for some kind of horrendous action is ridiculous. If anyone should step down it's the governor for blowing things out of proportion.

I'm torn (and perhaps a bit hypocritical). While I do think this was just a tasteless joke, I'm wondering how I would feel if he'd said he was going to go home and have some "fried chicken".

Really easy to say when you're a group NOT on the receiving end of these "jokes."

White people whining about political correctness is just their way of protesting not being able to get away with racist **** anymore.

As for whining .. you should re-write your post if whining bothers you!

You can either:
Suck It Up
Grow a Set
Join the Marines
