Parenthood starts because of sex. Planned Parenthood started out being about birth control, that's pretty obvious. You can't plan for parenthood by just hoping things will work out how you wish. It means being in control of your reproduction.

What do you think people might think Planned Parenthood is about?

Better yet, why isn't it called "Planned Infanticide"?

Um....this

Planned Parenthood is a good name for the organization. They provide care for women's REPRODUCTIVE organs. I mean really LOL!

You don't think preventing STDs ensures a woman's future fertility? You should read up about the affects of certain STDs on fertility (PID anyone? I'm guessing some of you don't know what PID is please google PID symptoms to find out).

Also when you use birth control you are PLANNING when you choose to or not to have children.

I mean, come on....I can't believe people would think that it means Planned Sex, that is just hilarious!! Leave to POC to give me a good laugh when I need it!!

People should know the truth of what an organization is; especially one where tax payer funds go. This organization's emphasis is not on Parenthood. Its about sex and apparently about political lobbying and using teens to promote a political agenda. Its a free country but they should be more honest.

"Some of the other requirements include, but are not limited to, attending World AIDS Day activities, lobbying and other advocacy activities."

"Motley noted that the teenagers were enlisted to make phone calls promoting New York’s homosexual “marriage” bill that was signed into law this year."

....I fail to see anything wrong with this.

People who actually do a bit of research find out that Planned Parenthood doesn't just cover Parenthood, or even just cover sex at all.

But hey, that implies that people not be idiots and actually look into things and form opinions for themselves.

Can't have that.

So what's with all the emphasis on LGBTQ? Why require teens who work there attend a Gay Pride Parade? Why the political activism? Gay teens aren't going to accidentally get pregnant.

Well, there you have it. The "birth" of their euphemistic name to help the public accept them for something a bit different than what they are.

It would be hilarious, if not for the fact that most of these people vote... yikes.
