$173,000 In Fees Sought In Rhode Island Prayer Banner Case

Now that ought to give the "Christian" bullies and Constitution-haters in other cities something to chew on.

This is the most ridiculous court case and should be thrown out as frivolous. If anything it shows how the these atheist "bullies" are up to no good and it is going to cost everyone. The message ont he banner proclaims no religion and seeks to make everyone better. Pick your battles and I for am glad this girl is getting flack for her decision to pursue this. If anything it is a violation of free speech and goes against the Constitution.

The banner makes references to a religion, which is a violation of the 1st amendment.

Way to rationalize that bigotry.

Which religion does it mention? Have you looked at the words on the banner?
Our Heavenly Father,

Grant us each day the desire to do our best, to grow mentally and morally as well as physically. To be kind and helpful to our classmates and teachers, to be honest with oursleves as well as with others. Help us to be good sports and to smile when we lose as well as when we win. Teach us the value of true friendship. Help us alwyas to conduct oursleves so as to bring credit to Cranston HighSchool West. Amen.
Which religion does it make a reference to? Does it mention specifically Christianity, Buddhism, Druidism, Hinduism, Allah, Shiva or even Jobu? Does it mention religion at all?

I have a problem with a person who looks at that banner and the great message it contains and has a problem with it.

She wanted that fight, she should pay for it.

Not true.

Quote:
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.
Says exactly nothing about mentioning a religion anywhere.

The ACLU is nothing more than a hate group that seeks publicity and cash to keep them going. They should be abolished.

1st amendment prohibits establishment of any religions, doesn't say anything about mentioning a religion, any religion, even a no name religion.

Amen is a reference to Judeo-Christian.

I stand corrected, the banner is an attempt to establish religion on govt. property, which is even worse. A big no no according to the constitution.

Ever notice how the ACLU and other atheist bigots only go after Christians, but never Jews or Muslims or any other religious group? hmm.

It is NOT a violation! How many times do you people have to be told this?
