The money behind the tea party is only in favor of 1st amendment rights when it is their first amendment rights. The ACLU fights to protect the 1st amendment rights of ALL PEOPLE. They no likey that.

Because the ACLU is not a group of willfully ignorant, bible-thumping, spittle-spewing wingnuts blindly swallowing the corporate agenda. That makes them anti-American communistic fascists. Or something like that.

Hah? Defend? Did they pay for his legal representation? No... all they did was say a few words and then they are gone... they didn't file briefs, they didn't gather evidence... they DID NOTHING (so I guess that's your idea of support).... no someone may ask, what DID they do... and if you look at ACTIONS instead of words, you'll know their agenda has been slanted heavily towards liberal political agendas... PERIOD... why do liberals always seek to deceive...

Because any rational person would not want to be identified with or supported by the ACLU.
And this is coming from a person (me) who would keel over in abject HORROR if Mr. Limbaugh or the more radical members of the Tea Party would appear at my side in support.
