Interesting read. we certainly have some troubling issues. and the people seem to have rolled over and allowed so much. ...Like the Supreme Court stealing our right to vote in 2000. Who gave them that right? If ther eis a problem with an election, do it again. its that simple! ....unless you are subverting the process which the candidate and brother were.

Then of course you have the Patriot Act which is anything but Patriotic, You have Homeland Security, TSA, The removal of peoples rights, and NDAA and so on. It is troubling indeed. It seems we had a coup in 2000 and no one noticed, or cared. We were reduced to the political system of a banana republic. Our National Assets were looted by those in charge, the taxpayer was used to give their friends billions, they weren't even shy about it. and did anyone care?.... We have OWS and yet the people want to turn on them as if they are the enemy. They are the only ones seemingly that are taking a stand against this assault.

This seems an issue that should transcend The party system, yet people are stirred and distracted with stupidity so as not to notice... (insurance rights for contraception as an example)

It's odd people that think they are for the Constitution actually defend these A holes... I don't get it!

Here is a great example of the people going stupid...Fart Joke Leads To Bomb Scare: Student Harold Wayne Hadley Arrested In Mississippi

Change your terminology... you can't call a fart a bomb any more otherwise prison for 10 years.... really? Are we that stupid?

Good points... I agree with all of them...

And yes, people need to get out of the partisan state of mind.

One thing about the OWS though... The OWS movements have actually expedited the agenda of the police state. I know it's conspiracy theory-ish but I really believe George Soros put a lot of money behind the movement.

Maybe it was initially his funding and the rest just caught steam...But that could have been very well by design.

I mean, the NDAA was passed right on the heels of the Oakland OWS boilover.

My complaint about the article it is slanted and does not include the left or {D} party or leaders. Reading the article one could think that Fascism is coming all from the right and {R} party and the left will save us. We all know that Obama and the {D} party has pretty much carried over the Bush policies. We also know that Obama and the {D} party are in full support of the writers definition of fascism being “Corporatocracy" despite their rhetoric to dupe the ignorant.

Many times in the forum it has been said that the parties are wings of the same bird or as Wilkie rightly stated "there is not a dimes difference between the 2 parties" The only questions that remain is will fascism stay alive and well in our democratic system? Or will it become totalitarian with one person or party in complete control?

Another complaint I have with the article is one of the tenets listed is to Restrict the Press. Give me a break our press does not have to be restricted they are complicit and helping to bring along fascism. You turn on Fox and they rail against GE paying nothing in taxes. Or how green energy companies going bankrupt after getting tax payer money{ Corporatocracy} Then turn on MSNBC and they are railing against the oil companies and their 6 billion tax break and talking about how wonderful a windfall profit tax would be.

See, one party supports their corporation buddies and the other party has their corporation buddies. And both are of course beholden by the banksters and the FR, you never bite the hand that feeds you.

I always laugh when my fellow right leaners refer to Obama as a socialist or a commie. In reality he is a good fascist just like Bush before him.

I agree...

But anybody who has a smattering of common sense could extract that. The writer does point out how dictators seek to streamline executive powers and bypass other bodies of government...

This, of course, exactly what Obama is doing.

But it doesn't fly in the face that every Pres. up to this point has had a huge hand in getting us here.

Different name, same thing... right?

nah I totally agree.... Bush and Obama are much of the same...the differences are trivial. but people swear that "progressives" are to simply "push" left and then we will all be happy and the hero saved the day...

It's sad that nobody sees it's just a hoax and is designed to pacify people with more of the status quo until it's lockdown time.

It's all just buying time for the agenda.

I just have time for one quick comment before trundling off to church. I'll develop it further if y'all think it's worth commenting on.

First off, let's not confuse Fascism with Nazism, a common mistake. Fascism is an economic model while Nazism is a political model which supported the Fascist economy in Germany. Whether or not you can have one without the other is another question.

Secondly, that article in the link, though posted this year, is hopelessly out of date. It apparently was written before the 2008 election, so it cannot address what has transpired since. IF you buy the idea that pre-2008 was Fascist, you must ask yourself if it is better now after 3 years of the Obama administration, worse or about the same.

That's all I have time for now.

To me, that goes without saying....

I would conclude anybody who opposed my personal view on it is greatly deluded.

Enjoy your Sunday!

I'd say that the nation is indeed a fascist state. Big business are the string pullers behind really all the politicians. The politicians need big funds to run a campaign that just 20$ donations from the people won't do, they need millions and the big corporations are more than willing to do so.

Only by people who don't know the definitions, the terms, or ignore reality.
