Fifty cents is fair. I guess I'd be upset if I still payed bills via mail or actually mailed hand written letters. If it keeps the USPS open it's all good. It's better than being raped by Fedex and/or UPS when I need to send a package.

If USPS closed UPS would have to raise rates, they wouldn't have the postal service to deliver many of their parcels.... Free enterprise getting beat by the postal service no wonder the wingnuts want to kill it.
If the broke/broken USPS need more dough, well, raise rates...have at it.
I rarely send/recieve mail, no skin off my nose.....you know, email...internet....pointy-clicky.
