Many Canadian police agencies “actively suppress” racial data when delivering their annual crime reports to Ottawa — a trend that is both disturbing and growing, according to a study released Wednesday.
The study, published in the Canadian Journal of Law and Society, said the continued “whitewashing” of criminal data makes it virtually impossible for researchers to gauge whether police are dealing with racial and ethnic minority groups in an equitable manner.
Racial data routinely suppressed by police in Canada, study says | News | National Post

How would they keep statistics on "hate crimes"?

Maybe it doesn't matter? Maybe they have moved on insignificant stats like the color of skin. Canadian citizens breaking the law is what they are concerned with.

If you despise a particular race, stats like this do matter.

If I get robbed, I could not care less what the race of the thief was.

The fact is social scientists find it useful to breakdown statistics into demographics in order to help alleviate society's problems.

Do the same people who argue we should not keep crime stats by race also wish we not keep stats on college admissions, employment and housing conditions by race?

Does everyone agree that race should not be a question on the census?

If the black unemployment rate is 15% and the white unemployment rate is 5% would not you think that fact should be utilized when considering government actions to relieve unemployment? Does everyone here truly want to be color-blind?

Their country. They can do anything they want. I don't see a problem if that works for them. Hell, even if it DOESN'T work for them....still not a big deal for Americans.

Canadians and herdes of Moose have been fighting since the beginning of time. Why does it always have to be coined as racist?
