Stating that Obama wanting more people to go to college is snobbery
Quote:
“That is snobbery."
“It starts down at the elementary school level with all this bull**** about diversity, pardon my French,
but they also agreed that universities are basically socialism factories.
“It’s communism,” Murrow said, cutting him off. “The professors are all teaching the kids…”
“Where does the social engineering stop?” Clement jumped back in, fired up. “Does it stop after we send everybody to college, or does it stop after we set their curriculum and said, ‘these are the things you’re allowed to study?’ Does it become the Soviet Union?”
And why should the American taxpayers and working people have to tighten their belts, yet the liberal univerisity employees are never expected to tighten theirs?
Not everybody is college material. To push for the majority to go to college is ridiculous. The country needs people that work with their hands just as much as it needs CEO's, Lawers, Doctors, etc. As I said not everybody has the ability to do good in college, but would be good in trades.

Well, CD is a perfect example of that statement.
All kidding aside, who gets to decide who is "college material"?

Actually at this point in time we need people who work with their hands MUCH more than the others (other than Docs)...have you tried to hire a plumber,GOOD carpenter or welder lately??? They do not exist for the most part...I've had to shut my welding shop completely down while I recover for the simple fact that I can't find a SKILLED welder/fabricator to keep it going until I heal up....at $35 + an hour offered and no takers, that was sad and eye opening for me.....to late now,but it would have been nice.
“Anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

I don't get it....what happened to the America full of craftsmen who were proud of working hard and doing a top job??? I reckon China has them all now.
