Boy, 7, branded a racist for asking schoolmate: 'Are you brown because you come from Africa?' | Mail Online

Wow...England is no place for English people anymore...I have heard of people being forced to take down their British flags, and one man was convicted of racism for revving his engine in a racist manner...WTF!

I guess if a couple of kids had seen the movie, "Meet the Parents" and mentioned the name of the star, Gaylord Focker they would have to be accused of racial violence.

This kid didn't do anything really wrong. What would have happened if the 5 year old had asked him why he was white, because he was from the UK?

This is pure Pelosi but will get worse as time goes by, I fear.

Thats how curious kids learn. When my daughter was small I was carrying her in a touristy area when she saw a black man for the first time in her life and yelled look dad a monkey! I quickly apologised to the man and explained and he was a great guy and was laughing about it. so daughter was shown some magazines and learned about other people. Kids aren't born knowing anything and learn things growing up. ever see the old show kids say the darndest thing? google it its funny

I remember when I was 18 I took a job selling encyclopedias door to door. Lasted about a week or two. Once we drove to southern Virginia and this white man opens the door. He invites me in and his young son around 3 or 4 just keeps staring at me as I'm making my pitch. Finally he blurts out, "Why are you brown?" I say well because my mommy and daddy are brown. Then he goes on to say how when he stays in the son he can get brown too. I respond you can stay in the sun a very long time but you'll never get as brown as me. His father at this point was beet red but the kid seemed perplexed and disappointed he couldn't be brown.

Folks need to lighten up.

Apparently the young lad from your story wanted to do anything but lighten up."

Last year, it was revealed that teachers are branding thousands of children racist or homophobic following playground squabbles.

They must have nothing better to do, like teach. I once worked with a young, in her 20s black girl. I have freckles on my arm. She asked me how come my arms looked that way, with a yuck in her voice. I laughed and said, "I don't know, I guess God made me that way."

So we should all take offense to innocent questions? Oh please.
