So the GOP must resort to whining about Obama's birth certificate and birth control pills in order to get more dummies to vote for them.

JMHO
Yup and yup... totally ridiculous that this is even a debate, and if the neocons hadn't run with this ball we'd never even know it was an issue. Birth control has been covered by insurance companies for YEARS (perhaps since the invention of insurance?), and nobody has cared about it until now. Good job at deflecting from the real issues, GOP!! Now why don't we focus on what's really important, instead of making pregnancy prevention and medical gynecological needs even more difficult to obtain?

I know, right? First they (conservatives) complain that poor people have too many babies, welfare & WIC should be abolished, children should suffer for their parents' mistakes, etc... but then they're trying to make it even harder to get birth control? Make up your minds already, as this is all becoming rather confusing and tiring to the rest of us.

This is about what the insurance company has to provide. The premium is paid by the company and the employees.

And what about women who are prescribed pills to treat a medical condition? I was on BC pills at one point for irregular periods. Some people are prescribed them for the hormones, etc etc.

Actual churches are already exempt. The debate is about whether other types of entities run by a church (like a school or a hospital) can opt out of supplying BC. That's a debate I'm curious to have, but I'm getting frustrated with the tons of misinformation floating around. We can't even get to the actual issue!
You need a course in econ 101. Where do you think the money comes from to...not enough time, never mind.

Well if they ask the question just about contraceptives then yes it would be 99% of Catholic women have used it, I guess. The rythem method is not artificial BC neither is NFP (natural family planning), I guess it matters how it is asked. Did they say how it was asked and what contraceptives meant?

Stats one cannot trust if you ask me. Anyway the problem is not how many women use it, the issue is artificial BC is against some people's religion and making them pay for it is against their conscience, for anyone.

It's not like BC is not readily available for anyone who wants to use it. If you think 99% use it that shows right there it is not hard to get.

If you don't have insurance, it can cost 3K/yr. I know exactly what Limbaugh said, and so does anyone else with half a brain. This man, who was addicted to narcotics (which I'm sure his insurance paid for) has the audacity to call a woman using BC a ****/prostitute and saying he wants to see her in some porn. He's has finished the GOP off nicely this time. Well done, indeed.

I think you are the one who needs to sign up for Econ 101. We are talking about INSURANCE paying for the BCP. You know, as in premiums?

That's right but we should not have to pay for sex toys for mental health too. You don't think the libs will get that written in too do you? I mean there should be some limit to free stuff right?

Oh please. Spare me some convoluted nonsense about how "everyone" is actually paying for it. "Everyone" paying premiums to Insurance Company X is paying for everyone else's care under Insurance Company X in theory, but that doesn't mean I get to demand the insurer not pay for treatment for diseases brought on by, say, obesity with "my" money. (Well they chose to overeat, why should I have to pay! Blah Blah Blah).

And since most insurers already subsidise the cost of BC pills, extending it to cover the copay is likely cheaper for them if it prevents abortions or especially pregnancies, which are WAY WAY WAY more expensive for the insurer.

Typical republican silliness. Way to stick to the subject, or are you trying to start a new rumor? I can hear it now: "President Obama wants you to pay for sex toys, that's right...sex toys with your tax dollars".
