Anyone notice that there's not really any anti-war candidates in both the democrat or repbulican party? Does anyone think what we did to iraq was horrible or the fact that a lot of them are even beating the war drum for iran right now?

To be serious...some of you act like you've been asleep the last 11 years in particular and the last 70 years in general. Are you people really that naive or just playing at it?

Because the petrodollar is losing foothold.
Haven't you noticed that we've invaded countries and killed the leaders who said they were leaving the petrodollar for oil trading ?

You must understand the system. A President does not really have any power- He is like a figurehead that presides over a meeting over a committee of sorts..Within that committee are the masters of business and their partners...the masters of war...sooner you understand that all war has nothing to do with ideology..ideology is for the common masses...war is business...the most lucrative and most interesting dynamic game played by an elite.

Look at the old photo of Churchill and Stalin and Rosevelt..(hope I got that right) - sitting together on some grandstand...They are all smiling and all full of mischievous glee...They are loving every minute of the war...It is the grandest of adventure for some human freaks and the greatest game the bored and spoiled elite will ever play...It does not matter who dies...their own or those called enemy....as long as someone is dying...they feel relevant....It is also about the ancient practice of human sacrifice...It is evil.

As the Prussian General Carl von Clausewitz said:
"War is the continuation of diplomacy by other means"

If you're the President of Uruguay, you have neither the military nor the diplomatic position to engage in war.

If you're the President of the United States, you have the military ability to engage in war and the diplomatic position to handle the international consequences. And sometimes, the pure cost-benefits analysis of engaging in a war makes war a more appealing option than not engaging in war.

In other words, war is a tool to affect change. Powers that have such a tool will be the ones to occasionally wield it.

I am not saying it is a good thing necessarily; it is simply a natural result of the asymmetric power of the United States compared to any other power.

Like Clausewitz said, war is continuation of politics by other means. These warmongers are all power-jockeys seeking to enrich their world position at any cost. Unfortunately, that cost is borne by all those that usually want war the least.

What you see as war mongering lies in the constitutional duty of the president to defend the country. You believe the countries best defense is to wait at h borders and wait for an attack. Others view is to stop an attack before it happens. No matter who is president they certainly have more information on what is needed the the general public
