I don't think the "religious right people" praise her religious thoughts or look to her for religious instruction.
Her religious position is irrelevant and is only highlighted by those who want to discredit her brilliant economic theory.
she was pretty much a rationalist. I think she went off the rails by trying to create an entire "Objectivist" framework, but I highly respect what she did to advance the ideas of freedom
Her REACTIONARY response to excesses imported to America only served to blind her to the actual meaning of America. .
I think Thomas Jefferson and Ben Franklin would have agreed with her writings. The "actual meaning of America" has morphed from one of accountability and limited government to one of entitlement and a nanny state. Rand is quite consistent with the founding fathers.
If you've actually read Rand's works, it's pretty obvious that she had some serious issues. Like, really serious issues.
Of course, that doesn't imply that all of her ideas were wrong.
You could say the same of the Church, or any individual, who is 90% correct but the 10% wrong is killing them. Denying the criticism that is valid is their doom.
"My philosophy, in essence, is the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute."
I am no intellectual, so I loved both Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead. It reminded me of the nobility and magnificance of man. We made the Empire State Building, the Golden Gate Bridge, and the pyramids. We are steadfast in tragedy.
Any book that can remind us of our best qualities, when the daily news focuses on the wost of us, is worth reading.
Yeah the ideas of individualism, personal accountability, responsibility, limited government, and spending restraint are just loony I tell you. No unchecked spending, massive debt, inflation and enormous government are clearly better and more sane ideas.

Ayn Rand encouraged man to reach for the best within himself and live a heroic life. Modern day collectivism discourages that.
We must bow to the collective. The collective is more important than the individual. Well, that is clearly what those who disagree with her think.
