Who knew the man was an expert on energy?

Obama calls oil a 'fuel of the past'

Quote:
Obama, promoting his energy policies in a politically prominent state that will host the Democratic National Convention, called on Congress to provide $1 billion in grants to local communities to encourage greater use of fuel-efficient technologies. The administration's goal is to make electric vehicles as affordable and convenient as gasoline-powered vehicles by 2020.
Should read "$1 billion in kickbacks, pay offs and vote getting"
It would be nice if we had a congress with stones to reign this fascist monster in.

oil is not infinite, one day it will end. If it's not the fuel of the past, it will be.

When that day arrives, who knows ,but we better be prepared

Will you buy me a new Obama car?
because the math in his plan to have us buy new cars to save on gas purchases doesn't add up for us regular folk.

That day will not come in our lifetimes,so why spend money we don't have now to chase it?

Not only is oil the fuel of the past, it will be the fuel of the forseeable future. Hard to believe that there are people who think an algae station will be opening in their community next month, next year or a decade from now.

Our economy is an economy of the past thanks to his green energy policies.

Exactly. I'm not sure why some on the right keep dragging their feet on this issue. Maybe they're thinking that we can use the hot air they constantly blow as a cheap, alternate fuel source?

No one thinks that, but nice try.
Oil is finite; why do cons want to shut down any research that will move us forward towards fuel independence?
The world is older than 6,000 years; man did not co-exist with dinosaurs; the world is not flat.

When that day arrives. It is the fuel of the present. We somehow keep finding more and bigger reserves all over the world even though the peak oil loons have been squealing since the seventies. It will arrive but it will be hundreds of years off. Better get ya a windmill so your prepared.

I have a Republican brother in law I absolutely detest. He voted for Bush twice. He thought Abu Graib was just some guys letting off steam, similiar to frat boy pranks (after Limblahblah told him to think this of course.) Yeah, he's that guy. The one, and I mean the one, thing we can agree on is that America needs to do everything it can to develop alternatives to Middle Eastern oil. Come on. If Brazil can do it, so can we. We wasted a decade on this issue. Let's not waste another one. Find something else to ***** about.
