Why don't you become informed on the subject and find out how wrong you are?

[quote=KUchief25;23310819]Well maybe the fact we don't have billions of dollars to throw around to a bunch of windmills and mirrors when we have enough coal laying around to produce energy for hundreds of years is one reason. If you havn't checked we are 16 trillion down and counting. Then you have the solyndra's who take the money and run on top of it.

Coal isnt laying around. We get coal from mountaintop removal.Which is a hateful practice.I live in the mountains.Iv seen how coal is mined. The debre from this is dumped in the hollers and creeks which causes major eroion.Sludge, which is toxic waste, from mountaintop removal is contained like a pond.Theres been floods of sludge in different parts of Southern Appalachia that has killed people and distoryed homes.Folks who have lived in the mountains for generations are drove out , thretened and exposed to cancer causing coal dust.Windmills and "mirrors" could get us away from bloing up our mountains.Folks can have thair own systems on thair houses or property.I know folks with thair own solar systems. They live the same way anybody els does on grid.Supporting the coal industry or anyother kind of dirty energy is bad for nature and bad for people.Whats important? We need clean air and clean water and clean ground to grow. And volinteer to control our own population.More people there is the more energy used.It dont hurt to be open minded about doing somthing different.

Without oil, coal, and natural gas, and unless he and his leftist dolts allow for nuclear power, we won't have the means to generate the electricity to recharge his electric car battery every 40 miles.

Better get a horse and buggy.

The one, and I mean the one, thing we can agree on is that America needs to do everything it can to develop alternatives to Middle Eastern oil. Come on. If Brazil can do it, so can we. We wasted a decade on this issue. Let's not waste another one. Find something else to ***** about.
We have a great alternative to Middle East oil; our own. Alaska, the Gulf and everywhere in between.

Once we get rid of liberals, perhaps we can get on with making a prosperous future for America, and once again be the envy of the world.

It would be nice if we had a congress with stones to reign this fascist monster in.

Bet you would have criticized Galileo, DaVinci, and Columbus too for thinking out of the box.

Simple fact... oil is an energy of the past, one we would best relegate to the past as soon as possible. kind of like lead paint.... it was useful just not the best product.

Kudos to Obama for investing in the future.

LOL..the changeover from oil will take a little longer than 3 years, especially when you invest in unsound companies that go bankrupt and produce vehicles out of the reach of many financially.

This is something that will take decades to accomplish and it should have been started decades ago, not 3 years ago.

When gas hits $5, $6, $7 per gallon then what will people do ?

The man is truly an idiot. There is NO alternative fuel source that can replace oil.

Yeah.....that "fuel of the past" that created the greatest world economy in history.
