This doesn't really belong in the politics -- more of a religion thread, don't you think?
The writer is making it political by going into how this is part of the larger movement of the US away from his version of god in government by invoking the differences in views of the US compared to Christian views on gay marriage, abortion, and the Ten Commandments in courthouses.
Also by dictating how people must act in a relations because he says it's right. Honestly there are thousands of ways people can be in a loving relationship. It's one thing to have an opinion how people should act as a part of your faith, it's another to champion that faith to apply to those who don't believe in his version of faith...or even the faith itself.
If people don't want their faith in the political arena, don't wave it in people's faces and demand they honor it.
I was dragged to a Catholic church as a kid. This one sounds like a lot more fun than the Simon Sez stand/sit/kneel stuff that I suffered through.
I'm Catholic, been Catholic my whole life. It's not perfect I know.
But I've been to some of these new age churches and I know for a fact that they are a joke. I went to my niece's baptism at some Church (can't remember the name of it, something like Crossroads). Anyway since I was the Godfather I wore a suit and tie. I was the only one in the church with a tie on, including the father and the reverend or whatever they call him. He had blue jeans on and a wooden cross hanging around his neck.
Kids were running all over the place, no discipline at all from the parents. I had no idea what was going on and pretty sure no one else did either.
I know this is a humor thread but felt the need to stick up for the Catholics
