I dont get it.

The left doesn't want the Repubs, who do indeed have a truly dismal record with regards to deficit spending.

But at the same time, they want Krugmanonics, which is simply a byword for saying 'pile on the debt'

Surely all the left should be voting for repubs, theyre the ones who are worst at so called fiscal conservatism.

This election is far too important to our nation's future to hand over to the GOP. We must mobilize and get out the vote for Obama for another 4 years!
So increasing the debt by more than the big-spending predecessor you hate is plenty enough reason to vote for the guy who increased the debt more than the big-spending predecessor you hate?

Weird logic.

What about OBAMA increasing the debt by almost $5 TRILLION in 4 years? You seem to be ok with that......of course.

Nothing could be worse than what he's done.

Yes, basically it is Bush's fault and those who had power for the 6/8 years leading up to the financial collapse. There'd basically be just as much debt if McCain was in power too.

Perhaps you should spend more time whining about the need to have better banking regulations in place so this can't happen again.

Can't you address what obama has done? Didn't he call it unpatriotic to amass such debt when Bush was in office? Now he's done even worse...and you have nothing to say?

HIS words, HIS record, HIS promises.....can't wait.

I'll write it up, but only if you'll commit that you'll put away the childish emotions and use your actual brain when you read it.

read reply #2, and tell me again who mounded the debt, sanrene.

2 unfunded tax cuts
2 unfunded wars
govt. expansion

all under Bush.

Now the GOP are calling for more unfunded tax cuts.

Did you post this kind of thread when GWB was in office? I think not.

he probably thinks it's off topic.

the national debt itself is not the problem; it can produce problem consequences, like inflation.

However those same inflationary consequences can be seen in the debt created by credit markets, that isn't counted in the "National Debt."

This financial debacle has been brewing for quite a while, it just seems nobody who is screaming about the deficit and the debt want to look farther back than 2009.

When Obama spoke about decreasing the deficit, he counted on the Bush tax cuts for people making 250K + to be allowed to expire, and both wars being over.

Neither happened.
