Anybody who remembers Paul Harvey, and even those who don't, will appreciate this warning of his from 1965. This is just a snippet of what he had to say. Click on the link to read the whole thing and see in what direction we continue to head and who is taking us there.
"If I were the devil, I’d educate authors in how to make lurid literature exciting so that anything else would appear dull an uninteresting. I’d threaten T.V. with dirtier movies and vice versa. And then, if I were the devil, I’d get organized. I’d infiltrate unions and urge more loafing and less work, because idle hands usually work for me. I’d peddle narcotics to whom I could. I’d sell alcohol to ladies and gentlemen of distinction. And I’d tranquilize the rest with pills. If I were the devil, I would encourage schools to refine yound intellects but neglect to discipline emotions . . . let those run wild. I would designate an athiest to front for me before the highest courts in the land and I would get preachers to say “she’s right.” With flattery and promises of power, I could get the courts to rule what I construe as against God and in favor of pornography, and thus, I would evict God from the courthouse, and then from the school house, and then from the houses of Congress and then, in His own churches I would substitute psychology for religion, and I would deify science because that way men would become smart enough to create super weapons but not wise enough to control them."

If I were the devil, all my tactics would be Democratic policies. I would buy votes with pandering promises, telling Americans that their survival depends on my programs and the money that I dole out. I would especially let minorities and immigrants know that they just can't make it in America without me----funneling money to them and giving special privileges based on skin color. I would suck their souls dry, while promising hope and change, and softly I would sing them to sleep with an amnesiac's lullaby that make them forget all about their parents' encouragement to do right and work hard.
Sounds like today.. give away stuff, take away incentives and kick God out. Then let the powers that be take over and everyone becomes a slave to the government.
I listened to rightwing talk radio today too -- so now I know where 80 percent of the C-D threads started by the conservatives comes from. This is far from Harvey's best work. Why would the devil be obsessed with sex? I think he'd have better things to think about.
If I were the Devil, I would have an entire political party endorse torture and start wars, I would also make sure this party worked to deny people health care so they would die sooner and that money used to preserve life instead went to the military industrial complex.

Lets make it easier for the progs when they get here to read this one and give them a one click means of seeing it. I wonder what they will have to say about a good conservative like Paul Harvey. Should be really good.

Getting people to kill each other seems far more devilish to me than getting some smut on tv.
