OK, so the doom and gloomers are always laughed at, why can't we laugh at the eternal optimists on this board? The ones who think America is infallble, the ones who think our currency could NEVER have a crisis.

How about the ones who said housing prices would always go up?

Quote:
“Given the fundamental factors in place that should support the demand for housing, we believe the effect of the troubles in the subprime sector on the broader housing market will likely be limited,” Bernanke said.

How about the ones who say our dollar is sound?

Why aren't the eternal optimists called out?

We are all optimists by nature. For better, or worse, we have a survival gene built into us that say's "things will get better", no matter how bad reality might be. With that said; there's a difference between healthy optimism and head-in-the-sand ignorance.

You can't eat gold and paper money is a scam... an investment (while still viable) in seeds, patented land with a good water source, and bullets to protect it, might not be such a crazy idea after all.

to be fair, our currency isn't in a crisis. currencies losing absolute value slowly over time isn't a crisis.
