According the the New York Times, he's a "white" hispanic. If he had been assaulted by a white however, the media would call him a "person of color".
Hispanic is an ethnicity not a race. Thats why Zimmerman could be called a white Hispanic a black Hispanic or a rare Asian Hispanic.

That's patently false. If you look at FBI Hate crime stats blacks are charged in 18% of all hate crimes (as one example).

Wasn't CNN calling Romney a Hispanic since his family has Mexican roots? If a fully white person is born in Mexico what are they?
Hispanic. However, since only one generation of Romneys stayed in Mexico, it really comes down to self identification.
Take Alexis Bledel, the actress who played Rory Gilmore. Fair skin, blue eyes, lightish brown hair - and she's Latina. The former president of Peru is of Asian heritage, but he's Latino.
I spent time living in Mexico. Being Mestizo (mixed race) is typical of Mexicans, but there are plenty of indigenous peoples (many who do not even speak Spanish!), Asian populations, and people we would identify as "white". They're all Hispanic/Latino. The red headed kids running around in kippahs outside of the synagogue in Polanco, a neighborhood of Mexico City, are just as Hispanic as the dark haired kids a few blocks over.
Zimmerman is Catholic and Hispanic. Are we really calling him Jewish because his last name happens to often be found in Jewish families? Really?

In Israel some Ultra Orthodox Jews DID get charged with maybe a hate crime against a secular little Jewish girl.
Zionists hate everybody who isn't Jewish....and they kill Muslims everyday. Of course they can....
Why don't you learn more about the conflict in the Middle East instead of using limited knowledge based on hearsay and rumors. First of all, Israel is a small country with about 7.8 million people. Only 5.5 million of the total population is Jewish. So that means between 25-30% of its citizens are not Jews. A large Arab population of about 1.7 million, mostly Muslims, work & live in Israel. Many of them are business owners. In fact, many non-Jews say they'd rather live in Israel where they have more rights than in other Arab countries in the Middle East. I am not going to post a history of Israel here, but I am very surprised when I meet people who think only Jews live in Israel. They are not even familiar with Israel's Declaration if Independence that states Israel "...will ensure complete equality of social and political rights to all its inhabitants irrespective of religion, race or sex; it will guarantee freedom of religion, conscience, language, education and culture; it will safeguard the Holy Places of all religions; and it will be faithful to the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.”
The U.S. is responsible for the invasion of several foreign countries and, along with own own brave men & women, have killed countless men, women and children in the name of freedom. Yet when a small country just wants to survive, the same people who think it's okay to kill 100,000+ people in Iraq and Afghanistan strongly criticize the Israelis for trying to stay alive. After all, the countries around it have repeatedly said their goal is to exterminate all Jews.

Since George Zimmerman is Jewish; is he capable of a "Hate Crime"?
You are just a troublemaker and really not worth of a response, but George Zimmerman and his family are all Catholics. Both parents are Catholic and were active in their church in Manassas, Virginia. Jews aren't baptized and aren't alter boys. Instead of showing ignorance by assuming certain names sound Jewish, do a little homework.
