Exactly. Used to work for me when I was a kid. But if you spank your child nowadays it's considered child abuse. There is a fine line.

Not sure if the consumption of the ice cream is the only reason. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's not. It's the pollution factor that has most people in Brooklyn fed up. These massive trucks are not only ubiquitous, but they idle for hours in one area and stink up the place. They park themselves for hours at a time near schools, playgrounds and parks. They're noisy, smelly and I honesly cannot understand why anyone would by anything from these trucks...they really don't seem very clean.

If the parents said no. The ice cream truck would not be making sales at this stop. The ice cream truck would go out of business . We could put the employees on unemployment give them food stamps save the pollution and let obamacare for health, but fortunately these parents can not simply say no to their kids and want to legislate what they will not do

So the mom doesn't want to have to fight with her kids over ice cream when she takes them to the park??? Lady, YOU'RE THE MOM. TELL THEM NO. There's a simple solution to this. Take some "healthy treats" with you to the park and make them eat that instead of ice cream.

I don't know about you, but I've seen parents smack the crap out of their kids in Walmart just because the kid is whining. Most people don't say a peep. Usually this behavior is done by parents that appear to be uneducated and trashy.

An ice cold one in that situation would have surely come in handy many a time. LOL

Do the ice cream trucks take food stamps? Maybe that is the problem.

Slapping for whining is a bit of an overreach. On the other hand, throwing a temper tantrum.... That being said, there are times when a spanking is warranted.
