Even with welfare, blue states are better able to fund themselves than red states. Red states have a history of taking more money from the federal government than they pay.

So much for rugged individualism.

That's harsh but you are probably right. It's very hard for a working man or woman to live in a blue state because housing is high dollar. Tho most blue states are part red like Illinois: take away Chicagoland and I'm going to say most of Il IS quite red and much safer, even for Black people.

Arizona is a "red" state but parts of it are blue like Flagstaff and Tucson but expensive or full of illegal aliens who push down wages for regular working people.

Don.t avoid the question, just answer it.

She can't because she has no idea what she is talking about. If you show her the statistics she just ignores the facts and sticks with what she believes. Typical liberal.

This thread is on which states receive more welfare than the others and it is a fact that the blue states are the biggest bloodsuckers. Now dispute the facts if you can. They are posted. Read and weep.

I can't stand all the red states sucking off the govt teet,.....

Maybe they should get [MOD CUT/inappropriate] edcuations and jobs down there. Bunch of damn socialists down there that want govt money to support them.
I'm sick of money being redistributed from my red state (we only got back $0.94 for every dollar for every dollar we sent to Washington in 2005) to blue states like Hawaii (they got back $1.44) and Maine (they got back $1.41) and the purplish-blue state of New Mexico, which got back a whopping $2.03.

Perhaps the Op needs to loo at Bill Clintons stats on spendig of federal dollars on welafre i raltiy. Its true that two areas that are rural have 80% of poverty one soutnern. but 80% of federal spending is spent on large urban cities;what he calls the politcs of welfare. No wander that many of the urban cities vote wealth sharing democratic candidates. Has budget have been cut we see where the people are who compnai and we will see it for alog times to come as fedweral spendig is cut ;like it or not.

The facts are correct, I just posted statistics myself, but like it corresponds, there is a strong tie between low intelligence, poverty, and being a GOP supporter.

If that's true, wouldn't the right wing excuse of "because there are alot of black people" be bogus as the southern states should then be strongly democratic?

.....and again without a break down of what those federal dollars are being used for those are all useless numbers.
