I'm glad you posted this thread because it's been on my mind with all of this immigration talk going on. I, too, am against illegal immigration for the same reasons as most people. The jobs, added cost to cities, etc. However, I LOVE the Mexican people in general. I live in Los Angeles and I have NEVER (yes, NEVER) seen a Mexican panhandler. I appraise houses, many with Mexican homeowners, and they are always the nicest folks and keep loving homes. They are, to a person, the hardest working people I've ever met.
Now that you mention it, I've never ever seen a Mexican panhandler in Phoenix or in New York. They are pretty hard working people. I love practicing my spanish with them. They're always eager to help me learn. Plus, Mexican food and cerveza is yum yum!!
People don't hate Mexicans but they create animosity by coming here illegally, refusing to learn English, creating an oversupply of low wage workers keeping incomes for Americans lower. Why should the USA accept illegal Mexicans when they don't accept illegal Hondurans?
because they mostly come here illegally, take our jobs and then send the money back home. Most refuse to assimilate because many hispanics feel Americans are stupid.
