Dershowitz: Prosecutor in Trayvon Martin case overreached with murder charge | Fox News

Quote:
Legal legend Alan Dershowitz blasted the special prosecutor in the Trayvon Martin case, accusing her of hiding evidence favorable to defendant George Zimmerman and committing perjury.

“If I were this prosecutor, I’d be hiring a lawyer at this point,” Dershowitz said of Angela Cory, the Florida state attorney and special prosecutor who Gov. Rick Scott appointed to handle the case.

“This affidavit submitted by the prosecutor in the Florida case is a crime,” Dershowitz said. “It’s a crime.”
What a way to screw things up and guarantee the case gets thrown out before it even goes to court...

He said it is quite possible Zimmerman was guilty of a lesser charge, but the affidavit does not support a second-degree murder charge.

Yup and madam prosecutor and the state of Florida are going to face potential criminal, ethics and civil actions as a result.

It's never a good idea to play to a mob especially one led by Al Sharpton or Jessie Jackson.

No. There will be trial.

He may not get convicted though.

This case won't go to trial; a plea bargain is much more likely.

If not thrown out I think he will walk or get a very reduced sentence.

It looks like Zimmerman may have the same crack team of prosecution after him that OJ did.

I agree they over-reached and was surprised by murder 2.

Politically there is NO WAY IN HECK that this case gets dropped. It will go to a jury and then if Zimmerman is not found guilty we will get to enjoy a nice round of riots and cries of the jury be racist and so on and so forth.

Zimmerman will then lose a civil wrongful death suit.

Saw that interview today and it was very impressive. Sounds like the prosecutor should face charges.
