I saw some reports and heard some people discussing it when I was in Biloxi last week. This could be real bad.

I'll wait for the report from a more reliable source other than an attorney that specializes in oil pollution lawsuits and Al Jazeera.

Been waiting for any big MSM outlet to report this.
I've read this in other outlets. It's not just shrimp though that are deformed.
And BP and the FDA still insist that fish from the Gulf is safe to eat.

Here's a major MSM article. Note the scientists are puzzled and there's only a small percentage of fish affected. Someone needs to remind those scientists about the BP spill and the huge amount of chemicals dumped into the Gulf.

Sick, deformed fish spotted after BP Gulf of Mexico oil spill - CBS News
The scientists are unsure what's causing a small percentage of the fish they're catching to have large open sores and strange black streaks. The biggest question is whether contaminants from the BP spill are causing the problems.

Another outlet has pictures though and a much more objective story:
Gulf seafood deformities alarm scientists - Features - Al Jazeera English
Along with collapsing fisheries, signs of malignant impact on the regional ecosystem are ominous: horribly mutated shrimp, fish with oozing sores, underdeveloped blue crabs lacking claws, eyeless crabs and shrimp - and interviewees' fingers point towards BP's oil pollution disaster as being the cause.

Premature conclusion based on speculation of anecdotal information.
Maybe be something to to it maybe not.

I'd look at precedent and ask where other spills occurred and what happened to the local fisheries. Haven't heard of deformities associated with other oil spills. So why would this spill be different?

Don't forget the big flood a few years ago that washed God knows what into the Gulf. How do you differentiate deformities due to different sources? I'm sure it can be done and will be done but early associations with the oil spill may be hysterical.

We don't know yet, all I know is, the few people I talked with about it are very concerned. Previous info on oil spills, here's one ..

I saw MCM news on the deformities. Just not the closing. This seemed new. I stopped eating seafood awhile back. Between BP and Fukushima forget it. If I know the source I would consider it.
Fukushima is another one they are dismissing.

It is too easy for them to dismiss. Especially radiation.

The govt and the corps aren't going to be straight with you. The Corexit and constant spraying to sink the crap was probably much worse than the oil.

Now people that got to live with this stuff. They can be much more trust worthy.
