Interestingly the veteran had been discharged under don't-ask-don't-tell.

Shouldn't have been allowed on the freaking base. Keep their freak show off the military bases. Christ they will do anything to get in the spot light to push their lifestyle on America.

Or let them do what they want, how about you stop pushing your lifestyle on everyone else.

Christ if I have to hear one more moronic Rightard complain about people living their lifestyles and than project Christianity and theocracy in their laws I will lose it.

The right wing is the height of hypocrisy and craziness.

I am not a christian pal. So wrong again I am not the one proposing to my butt mate on a military base. They should try respecting the honor of our military and fallen soldiers who fought for this country. Like I said the only reason he did it on the base is because he would get noticed. Why not do it in private or over a nice dinner? hmmm...

Would you be upset if a man proposed to a woman upon returning from war? Or is it just that this was a homosexual couple?

Again doing it for publicity. How in the hell is the first thing you think to do when seeing a loved one for the first time in say a year is the propose to them...its a publicity stunt. I would give them a hug and be very thankful that I have them back in one piece.

Cool non-answer bro.

So again, does it equally bother you when the heterosexual partner of a returning military member proposes in exactly the same manner, or does it simply get under you skin that these two are homos?

I don't know, perhaps being without someone for a year makes you even more committed to that person and makes you want to get married??

Anyway, I noticed you did not answer the question. Would you have the same problem if this was a heterosexual couple that proposed??

That's what YOU would have done. Stop pushing your agenda and opinions on others, pal.

Maybe the Vet decided that this was the best time to do such a thing since maybe these two love each other. What better way to welcome your loved one home who you have been with for a long time than by proposing marriage to them?

I said in the very first line its a publicity stunt for ANYONE to do it. Doesn't matter what sexual orientation they prefer its a publicity stunt and uncalled for. Most folks I know like these things to be nice quiet private affairs not publicity stunts unless you are in fact trying to get the media's attention.
