The President spoke at a social media town hall event in California today, answering questions from the public. "Right now, we’ve got the lowest tax rates we’ve had since the 1950s. And, some of the Republican proposals would take it back as a percentage of GDP back to where we were back in the 1920s. You can’t have a modern industrial economy like that."

Taxes are VERY low, and that is the largest reason for out mounting deficits. We need to cut spending or rates taxes, or both, to get out of this situation.
These rates are entirely misleading, and always paraded out by those who want to raise taxes, dismantle deductions, and spend more on social welfare. Would this describe you?
The bottom line is that we are the highest taxed nation on the corporate side, and the 22nd highest taxed on net income. This does not account for state, property, energy, utility, sales taxes...etc. We are a nation of a tax burdened middle class. When these additional taxes are added in, we are right at the bleeding edge of oppression.

American corporations already pay 78% in taxes. Big commie government is trying to tax American businesses out of business. Enough is enough!
