Do we want free enterprise or not? Who do you think is going to get that sludge coming from Canada in the XL pipeline to a free port in Texas. China, that's who.

Will y'all please make up your minds. Obama is a communist giving our oil to China, but the a pipeline to a refinery to ship crap to China is OK. This is confusing.

I'm all for nationalizing the all fossil fuel companies.

So, if he calls for regulation you'll pi$$ and moan about that.

When the market is free you pi$$ and moan about that.

Why not save yourself all the needless rhetoric and simply post you don't like Obama?

And WHERE would you have him lead us?

Seems more like you're spouting typical right wing hypocrisy.

"We want less regulation except when we want more."

"We want a free market except when we don't want it to be free"

"We ate our cake and now we don't have it"

The two worst things about the right is its face.

I see something very wrong with all this, but regretfully the

author is not asking why things are going wrong in the US.
That's probably because the author is as ignorant as you are.

Independence of foreign oil is an illusion for the most part. You really could be independent, but you don't understand what independence requires, and you most certainly don't have the guts to do what it takes.

Going back to the ignorance thing, it is oils not oil. Not all oils are created equally, and they cannot all be used to produce the things you need for the Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢.

It all comes down to one simple question: Do you want to live the Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢ or not?

Because if you do (want to live the Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢) then you need foreign oil. There is no debate, no alternative, no nothing.

If you are willing to give up living the Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢ and live like Americans did in the late 1960s and early 1970s, then by all means put an end to foreign oil imports.

You'd save a helluva lot of money doing that. You'd even be able to balance your budget. Why?

Because the foreign oil you import is light sweet [low sulfur] crude oil. And there are two reasons you import light sweet [low sulfur] crude oil: 1) you ain't got none, and 2) if you want to live the Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢ then you must have light sweet [low sulfur] crude oil. It is not an option. Why?

It's called Organic Chemistry.

You have oil refineries, and I've listed them before, that refine thousands of barrels of oil per day, but they don't produce even one single drop of gasoline.

Why? They're refining foreign imported light sweet [low sulfur] crude oil Extravagant American Life-Styleâ„¢ (because you ain't got none).

Every pharmaceutical drug on the market since 1994 is loaded with foreign imported light sweet [low sulfur] crude oil . You halt the flow
and 10 Million Americans will die without all of their Lipitor and other cholesterol and high blood pressure mediation, as will all of the fat bodies with Type II Diabetes who'll go in comas and die.

And it is a good thing they'll die, because you'll lose about 5 Million jobs permanently (as in forever) within 2-3 years. All those people at Wild Flavors and Givaudan will lose their jobs, and then all of those people who work at plants making frozen and microwaveable foods will all lose their jobs, and then retail grocery will be laying off people, since there are fewer items to stock and that's just the tip of the ice-berg.

I don't expect people to understand Organic Chemistry, but if you want to know why the Chinese are allowed to buy it, you can enlighten yourself by asking one simple question:

How do you get the oil and natural gas out of the ground?

Chemically...

Apparently not. It doesn't matter anyway. You and a few others understand, but most of them don't, and I don't think they ever will.

Then why are you whining about the President, since as you said it is their business. Clue the government does not control the sales of oil either price wise or to whom it is sold. If you have an issue with them selling to the Chinese then take it up with them. I thought conservagtives were against controlling businesses doing their business as they see fit, now t is different

This post is soooo right on. How in the world can anyone take these numskulls seriously. They have no platform, no ideas, no cred, no intellegence. They truely are the modern incarnation of the "Know nothings". The only thing they know and care about is all the loot they can steal when they are in power. If the whole rotten barrel of them ceased to exist tomorrow, the world would be a far better place.

It is not a 'free market' when state actors are involved in the transaction.
