Yes, Jerry Brown, Mr Moonflower, gubner of the great state of California. From Bloomberg, though other outlets have similar stories.

"Brown proposed a 38-hour government workweek to reduce payroll, and cuts of $1.2 billion from health care for the poor, $1.1 billion from welfare and in-home help for the elderly and disabled, and $500 million from courts. "

To attack Republican on these points is disingenuous at best, and more than likely demagoguery.

Hmmmmm, but when Perry did this and worse in Texas the righties either did not say a word or defended him. FYI, California is in a world of hurt right now, and the govenment is doing everything they can to save money, right along the lines of what Repubs would do. Soooooooo, I guess it comes down to that selective outrage once again, when our guys do it they are loking out for the citizens, when the other does the same they are pure evil

Brown is not proposing nearly the amount of cuts in spending that he must make.

His overall spending is actually higher. He just wants to cut the more helpless Americans to keep buying himself and party votes.

No selective outrage here. I don't think the cuts go deep enough or affect enough of the right people.

BTW those cuts are proposed only if Californian's dont pass a two tax increases in Nov.

Based on some informal polls in the California forum FULL of *******s it dosent look good for Brownie.

You do know that even the president has proposed cutting social services programs. I know here in GA it was a big deal that next year the HEAP program could get cut by 2 billion dollars due to proposed cuts by the Obama administration. HEAP provides funding to help poor families and the elderly pay the cost of high utility bills in the winter in most areas, but more of it goes to the elderly here in GA in the summer due to the cost of AC.

Democrats do not always continuously fund social services. That is just a lie that the GOP likes to spread. Most states period are cutting back on everything in order to save money, no matter the party affiliation.

I assume this is a poor attempt to compare Conservatives' war on women's rights to budget cuts where women are also affected...
