The Enemedia is SILENT - 13 BANKS - New York & California have new investors or controllers
U.S. lawmakers have been unusually silent about federal regulators’ decision to allow a Chinese bank to take over 13 bank branches in New York and California, suggesting that they think American banks have much to gain.
The media is pretty silent on all ownership. I have yet to see a MCM news story of CAFRs at all. If it is publicly traded, chances are the govt owns the majority shares.
These banks are only branches of a Hong Kong based bank. I see no issue with this at all.
Agreed. It is a Chinese banking taking over a Hong Kong bank that has 13 branches in the United States. The reason the media isn't reporting it is that it isn't newsworthy to people who don't spend their days reading web sites that cater to fear.

How come the SILENCE??
How come the silence from you on Arabs owning and investing in American Banks?

Just out of curiosity why is fear mentioned here? Information is just that. I don't see anybody acting fearful or pushing it.
Also people obviously are interested in such items, far more than who is sleeping with whom, so I disagree about it being newsworthy.

Thread exists because of current fear climate surrounding the topic of China. If it was 13 branches owned by Japanese banks it wouldn't have been a thread, unless we went back to the 80s when Japan were the fear country du jour.
Right under that you'll see links to stories like "Will Obama impose martial law" ... cater to fear.

Actually I'd submit very few people are obviously interested in such items, so no it isn't newsworthy. You have demonstrated you are very interested in the subject of who owns what, you'd be wrong to assume the majority shares your passion.
Also it is absolutely foolish to believe more people are interested in this banking ownership transaction than who certain people are sleeping with.

That's nothing. I was reading yesterday about an agreement among all governors for 257 Chinese cities in the U.S. All the population and jobs created will be manned by Chinese. I believe a lot of our federal land is being bargained as collateral.
